Queen Bee Maternity
Currently my practice involves Independent and Case loading midwifery. Functioning largely in the Waikato region and based in King country. I feel woman should be made to feel special and pampered during their pregnancy state.
My character could be described as friendly and open. I am caring and passionate in everything I attempt.
I have been a Midwife for over 20 years as well as a Registered nurse. I have worked and traveled extensively overseas which has enabled me to have a greater understanding and respect for all cultures. I have always lived in the country and love the outdoors. My other interests are jogging, gardening and bee keeping.
I love working with children. I have fond memories of the time we adopted 12 retired polo ponies to teach horse riding to underprivileged children in Africa. The experience was life changing for my family as well as the children themselves.
I have previously taken a gap year from Nursing and Midwifery to raise ostrich chicks before returning to the profession I love.
Birth is a natural but hugely significant event. Every midwifery setting should be directed by the mother and family and their desires considered to ensure a safe, enjoyable and special outcomes.
